Jamaica is often referred to as God鈥檚 paradise in the Caribbean Sea. So breathtaking is its natural beauty that the Spanish and British colonies fought bitterly to 鈥榦wn鈥� it. The suffocating, abusive years of slavery annihilated Jamaica鈥檚 natives, who were replaced by African slaves under British governance.
Today, Jamaica is a collage of African, Chinese, Indian, and many other migrant nationalities, making its motto 鈥渙ut of many one people鈥� a true reflection of its population.
Join us in the city of Kingston, Jamaica鈥檚 capital, from January 30 to February 6. Here, we will reflect on the island鈥檚 beauty, charm, socio-economic challenges, and the Christ-centered interventions that aim to transform a city aching to rid itself of the anomalies of violence and infrastructural malaise.
